South College Programs Are Accredited

June 30th, 2009 by Stephen A. South

Students take tests, and so do colleges but in a somewhat different way.

Commissions and associations regularly evaluate South College to assure students and potential students that we meet certain standards of educational quality and other parameters.

The reviews are rigorous and detailed, but we understand that education is serious business. We need to demonstrate that our offerings are of equal or better quality than others. We welcome the scrutiny because it makes us a better institution of learning. And it makes us a better value to students.

South College is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to confer Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science degrees. The authorization has to be renewed every year.

The Tennessee Division of Veterans Education approves our training of veterans.

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits South College to award master’s, baccalaureate and associate degree programs.

Various programs such as Legal Studies and Medical Assisting receive programmatic accreditation or approval.

These reviews are important to us and to our students. Please contact us to learn more.
